Welcome to NCIF

Northern Cape Innovation Forum

The Northern Cape Innovation Forum (NCIF) is a multi-stakeholder and cross-sectoral platform dedicated to driving the innovation and technology ecosystem in the Northern Cape. By fostering collaboration between key players, NCIF serves as a vehicle for economic growth, technological advancement, and entrepreneurship in the province.

As part of its mission, NCIF follows the Triple Helix Model, bringing together academia, government, innovators, entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, social enterprises, industry, SMMEs, and investors. This collaborative approach ensures that the Northern Cape’s innovation ecosystem is inclusive, dynamic, and well-equipped to support startups and emerging technologies.

The forum is hosted and facilitated by the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) Centre for Entrepreneurship & Rapid Incubator in Upington, Northern Cape. It is financially supported by the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) through the Regional Innovation Support Programme (RISP) PMU and co-funded by the Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDaT). Through its initiatives, NCIF provides networking opportunities, skills development, mentorship, and access to critical innovation resources, ensuring that the province remains at the forefront of technological and economic transformation.
